Quiet as a whisper

Absorption fridges work in a different way from the one at home. Because the Thetford fridges have no

compressor, they are far quieter. So your enjoyment of your cosy caravan or motorhome won’t be

disturbed. Thetford absorption fridges are extensively tested, and come with a three year guarantee

instead of the usual two years. In addition, the fridges have the CE mark of quality, they are also CFC-

free and almost entirely recyclable. In short: Thetford absorption fridges are top quality!

Manual, electric or automatic

All Thetford absorption fridges work on the mains (230V), direct current (12V) or gas, allowing you to

use the fridge in all circumstances. Ignition and control mechanisms do, however, differ according to

fridge model. Fridges with manual ignition can even work using only gas – without being connected

to electricity. If you select gas for manual ignition you press the ignition button until the flame appears.

The desired energy source is also selected manually for fridges with electric ignition. The flame will

then be ignited electrically. Automatic fridges are provided with a Smart Energy Selection (SES)

system. The SES system chooses the best available energy source. If it selects gas, the gas will be

ignited automatically.

Securely closed door

The fridge door’s closing mechanism consists of a magnet around the door, a catch integrated into

the door handle and, in some models, an extra catch on the underside for use when traveling. You can

be sure that the fridge will remain securely closed when driving.

Efficient door containers & Flexible bottle slide

The height of the storage container in the door can be adjusted, and they have a raised edge at

the rear. In this way, any spillage will be contained and will not leak along the inner side of the

door. In order to keep bottles in place in the door, Thetford fridges are equipped with a flexible

bottle slide. Their pliability ensures that any size or shape of bottle can be held securely in place.

Furthermore, the fridge door has a bottle rack to keep the larger bottles in place.

Handy non- slip click strip

The height of the fridge’s storage racks is adjustable. There is a plastic strip on the storage racks

in the fridge. This strip ensures that provisions cannot shift while traveling.

Flame indicator

Immediately following ignition, the flame indication on the control panel shows whether the flame is

lit; stooping to look for the flame is a thing of the past.

Defrost cycle and self- diagnosis

The LCD range is equipped with an automatic defrost cycle. This prevents ice collecting on the

freezer element. This means that manual

defrosting is unnecessary. Furthermore, these

fridges have a reliable self- diagnosis system.

Thetford fridge vents to suit fridge model. Thetford

fridges come with right hand hinged doors as

standard. It is possible to hand the doors

afterwards.
